Kia Ora Koutou If there are any staff interested in attending the Cultural Training (as attached) at Waiwhetu this is FREE and the dates and times are included so you will be able to diary what best suits your schedule. TRW gives opportunities for organisations and people to participate within a marae setting which gives you the chance to ask questions that you need answers to such as working with Māori patients and or whānau, the processes within a marae, what other organisations are connected to Waiwhetu and any other questions. This gives the participants an insight into one of the most well established and well connected Marae systems for the Hutt area, and what Waiwhetu offer for the Māori population and other organisations of Te Awakairangi (Hutt Area). If you would like to ask further questions or talk about TRW anyone can either e-mail me or my contacts will follow this email, thank you and may you all have a great day. Would you kindly circulate this among your other worker's or contacts please thank you. Ngā mihi nui kia koutou Maraea Cookson

I'm currently working in the delightfully diverse suburb of Otara, for Otara Health Charitable Trust. Like many of yourselves, I am interested in increasing access to health, social, education and employment services for our diverse communities. I am currently looking for a handful of keen individuals from the Otara area to be the link between their communities and local services. This would involve finding out what issues and services their friends, family and communities are interested in knowing more about, and any difficulties or barriers they have encountered trying to access services. Once this information is fed back to us, we can help you to find the right information for your group, and advocate for better access to services for your community. If this sounds something that would interest you, or someone you know, please get in touch with me for further details.

Hi All, We are looking to do a panel discussion on issues of disability within the Asian communities on THE ASIAN RADIO SHOW. Ideally we would love to have someone who works with the communities and someone (Asian) who can share their story of being differently-abled. Since the show is in English and on radio we do need people who can speak English, although accents are not a problem. Hope you understand. Please email <email obscured> Thanks. (And this is a paid gig. We will pay you for your time and effort.)
