Anna Cottrell

After starting her working life as a social worker, Anna studied journalism and is a documentary producer and director. She now works part time as a Project Advisor for New Zealand On Air, the funding agency for public broadcasting.
She was a Wellington College Board member for seven years and now chairs the management committee of the Wellington Activity Centre, a 'school' for students suspended from their colleges.
She has produced educational programmes for the web, tutors at the Wellington Film School and is a trustee of the Migrating Kitchen Trust set up to promote racial tolerance and understanding. She has co-curated two multi-cultural exhibitions called The Migrating Kitchen at Pataka Museum of Arts and Cultures in Porirua (www.migratingkitchen.org). She is currently producing an oral/video history project with ten refugee families who have settled in the Wellington region.
